Men's golf rainwear

4-way stretch

4-way stretch rainwear is an advanced and technologically advanced form of rainwear that offers exceptional freedom of movement and comfort. What "4-way stretch" refers to is the ability of the fabric to stretch in all directions - both horizontally and vertically. This makes the clothing extremely flexible and adapts to the body's movements, which is particularly valuable in activities that require great agility. Therefore, it is optimal for golf but also for activities such as hiking, cycling, etc.

The materials used in our 4-way stretch rainwear combine waterproof properties with elastic fibres. This not only provides protection from the rain, but also allows for effortless movement without restricting the wearer's freedom. It is an ideal solution for those who want to maintain an active lifestyle even when the weather is not cooperating.

In addition to its technical functionality, our 4-way stretch rainwear is also popular for its light weight and compact design, making it easy to carry and store. The combined flexibility, water protection and comfort make the 4-way stretch rainwear an excellent choice for those who want to maintain their mobility while being protected from bad weather.

Water column pressure

Water column pressure is a unit of measurement used to assess the waterproofness or water repellency of textiles, including rainwear and tents. It refers to the amount of water that can be applied to the fabric before it begins to penetrate. The unit of measurement is given in millimeters (mm) and represents the height of a column of water that the fabric can withstand before water penetrates.

For example, if a material has a water column pressure of 10,000 mm, this means that the fabric can withstand a water column that is 10 meters high before water penetrates. The higher the water column pressure, the more waterproof the material.

A good water column rating in rainwear indicates the fabric's waterproofness and its ability to resist water penetration. In general, a water column rating of 10,000 mm or more is considered high and sufficient to keep you dry in moderate rain. For more intense rain or for activities in wet conditions, an even higher water column may be desirable, such as 20,000 mm or more.

Our rainwear has a water column pressure of 15,000 mm, which in 9 out of 10 cases should be more than enough to protect the active golfer against wind and water.

Hydrostatic head is an important specification to consider when choosing clothing or equipment for outdoor activities, especially in wet conditions. In general, materials with a high hydrostatic head are considered more effective at keeping the wearer dry during rain or snow.

Breathability

MVP, or Moisture Vapor Permeability, refers to the ability of a material to allow water vapor to pass through it. This is an important property in garments and textiles, especially when it comes to sportswear or outdoor clothing, including golf clothing. Breathability allows sweat vapor from the body to pass through the fabric and evaporate into the atmosphere, helping to maintain the wearer’s comfort by reducing internal humidity and preventing overheating. Materials with high breathability allow air circulation, which is essential for maintaining a comfortable temperature and preventing the accumulation of moisture inside the garment. This is especially important during physical activity or in warmer weather conditions. Breathable clothing therefore contributes to a more comfortable and functional garment that meets the wearer’s needs during different activities.

In general, it is said that a breathability (MVP) of 0-5,000 is for activities without too much effort. If the breathability is in the range of 5,000 - 10,000, moderate activity will be ok, but for further effort such as a round of golf where several kilometers are covered, a breathability (MVP) of 10,000 or more is required.

Our rainwear has a breathability (MVP) of 15,000, which in 9 out of 10 cases should be more than enough for the active golfer's condensation to evaporate, keeping you dry both inside and out.

Care of rainwear

However, the water column pressure can be reduced over time. Therefore, the water column pressure you receive when purchasing is only the waterproofness in an unused condition. Over time, the rainwear will be exposed to wear, dirt, sweat and detergents. This means that the resistance to water decreases. The water column pressure in the material decreases over time, as the rainwear is used. However, the lifespan and waterproofness of the rainwear can be extended by optimal care. This can be done, among other things, by washing the jacket occasionally and applying a re-impregnation to the jacket. Our rainwear should be washed at 30 degrees and then air-dried. However, only wash it when necessary and also consider using a special detergent that protects the rainwear's waterproof and breathable membranes as best as possible. Nikwax is recommended here.

What else?

Our rainwear also has both welded and taped seams, which are two different methods used to make rainwear tight at the joints. The welded or taped seams are just as important to the tightness of the rainwear as the material the rainwear is made of.

Taped seams mean that the seams are sealed with a special tape that makes the rainwear waterproof at the seams. If you turn the rainwear inside out, the taped seams are visible.

Welded seams mean that the seams are welded together instead of sewn together.

Our extra long zippers in the trouser legs are taped to ensure that no water gets in and at the same time the zipper itself is waterproof on the front. The extra long zipper also helps you get into the pants quite easily and quickly without having to take off your shoes.
